Dr. Ng Thian Hong

Thian Hong Ng is the Group Chief Strategy Officer of HARPS Global, where he leads the Group’s strategic planning, sustainability agenda, and selected corporate development initiatives. In his current role, he serves as the functional lead for Sustainability and Environment, Social and Goverance (ESG), providing strategic guidance to the Group’s Executive Management and Board of Directors on sustainability integration, governance, climate-related matters, responsible business practices, and long-term value creation.

He also oversees Technical and Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual Property (IP) management, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and selected corporate governance initiatives across the Group. Between 2023 and 2024, he led the Project Management Office (PMO) coordinating the significant acquisition of sempermed® by HARPS Global.

Under Thian Hong’s leadership, HARPS Global has strengthened its sustainability governance and disclosure practices through: the publication of its inaugural Sustainability Report aligned with internationally recognized frameworks, active participation in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), and enhanced ESG benchmarking and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Prior to joining HARPS, he held regional and global leadership roles at Synthomer (a global manufacturer of synthetic latex) across innovation, technical services, business development, and technology acquisition. His experience includes leading global technical teams, supporting multinational customers, and contributing to innovation and proprietary technology development for international markets.

Thian Hong holds a PhD in Chemistry and Biorefinery from Brunel University of London, United Kingdom.
