At HARPS Global, responsible sourcing is fundamental to how we protect people and deliver high‑quality products. We work closely with our suppliers to uphold ethical labor practices, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance across our global value chain. Through transparent supplier assessments, strict codes of conduct, and continuous collaboration, we strive to build a supply chain that is resilient, responsible, and aligned with international standards.
How we SOurce responsibly
Our responsible sourcing approach integrates environmental, social, and ethical criteria into how we select, evaluate, and work with suppliers. In addition to traditional factors such as quality, cost, and reliability, HARPS considers sustainability performance, labor practices, and regulatory compliance throughout supplier onboarding and ongoing engagement.
Our approach aligns with internationally recognized frameworks, including:
- Responsible Business Alliance (RBA)
- Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP)
- amfori BSCI
- International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions
- UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
We’ve also received recognition from EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability assessments, evaluates 21 sustainability criteria across four core themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement
Ethical and Inclusive Procurement
HARPS actively promotes ethical procurement practices that support local economies while maintaining the high standards required for medical and protective products. Wherever operationally and commercially viable, we prioritize sourcing from local suppliers to strengthen regional supply resilience and support economic development.
In 2024:
- 41% of procurement spend at Central Medicare Sdn Bhd was sourced from local suppliers
- The remaining sourcing reflects the specialized nature of raw materials such as nitrile latex, which may not be locally available

Supplier Assessment & Ongoing Monitoring
To manage risk and drive continuous improvement, HARPS conducts structured supplier assessments and monitoring programs. Supplier evaluations focus on quality, environmental performance, delivery reliability, and ethical and social compliance.
Key elements include:
- Supplier self‑assessment questionnaires (SAQ)
- On‑site vendor qualification audits
- Verification of ISO certifications (e.g., ISO 13485, ISO 14001)
- Ongoing performance monitoring and periodic re‑audits
Protecting human rights in our supply chain
Respect for human rights is central to our responsible sourcing commitments. HARPS Global enforces a zero‑tolerance policy toward forced labor, child labor, and unethical recruitment across our operations and supply chain.
Our approach includes:
- Zero recruitment fees, bonds, deposits, or savings
- Ethical recruitment policies aligned with ILO standards
- Independent audits and multi‑stakeholder Responsible Recruitment Programs
- Grievance mechanisms for workers and suppliers, including third‑party platforms
