Group Chief Strategy Officer
He began his career in 2001 as a Technical Chemist at Claytan Industries Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer of ceramic sanitaryware, where he was responsible for research and development, quality control and quality assurance, as well as providing technical support within the ceramic laboratory.
He later joined Synthomer Sdn Bhd (“Synthomer”), a global manufacturer of synthetic latex, where he held various technical and leadership roles across product development, technical services and business development. During his tenure, he contributed to innovation and new product development in synthetic lattices for dipping applications and co-invented technologies that led to four patent applications filed by Synthomer.
In 2009, he pursued his doctoral studies in the United Kingdom and obtained a PhD in Chemistry and Bio-refinery from Brunel University London. Following the completion of his PhD, he returned to Synthomer in 2013 as Head of Technical Services for the Health and Protection Strategic Business Unit, where he led global technical support for customers and supported innovation initiatives. He was subsequently appointed Director of New Business Development and Technology Acquisition, where he was responsible for identifying strategic business and technology opportunities, including partnerships, licensing and acquisitions for Synthomer’s Performance Elastomers Division.
He joined HARPS Holdings in November 2020 as Chief Innovation Officer, where he was responsible for driving technological, process and organisational transformation, as well as cultivating innovation capabilities across the Group.
Since 2023, he has served as Group Chief Strategy Officer of HARPS Global, where he leads the Group’s strategic planning and corporate development initiatives. In this role, he also oversees Intellectual Property, Technical and Regulatory Affairs, as well as Sustainability. Between 2023 and 2024, he served as the Project Management Office (PMO) lead for a major merger and acquisition exercise undertaken by HARPS Global in relation to the acquisition of sempermed.
He currently serves as Chief Strategy Officer at HARPS Global.
